Dani Orchard was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, one of six children. She earned a BFA in Painting from Indiana University in 2009 after studying abroad in Florence, Italy, and Giverny, France. She went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Painting from Hunter College in 2013. While there, she was awarded the Dedalus Foundation MFA Fellowship, and is a current artist-in-residence at the Foundation’s space in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
