by KJ Hannah Greenberg
His one hundred styles, friends, additionally, a galley’s musicians, the ilk playing
Trombones, while braiding tight syncopation, giving over beat, maybe posturing,
Blaring, cupping, flutter tonguing, pedal toning, also exploiting vibrato, attention.
Notwithstanding sense, in kin and kind, such as those launch generations to vocal
Sounds, old-fashioned issuing of phrases, form, harmony, expression, novelty,
Perceived none too often like birds, bells, breezes, boldness, translate no late night
Parties, waste no noons, cocaine-influenced mornings, or happy, happy little splurges.
Youth’s discovery of composition, scores, likewise rhythm, color, instruments, usually
Grooves on hidden belly buttons, mewing, spewing, chewing, besides sundry measures,
Sentiments that book, paint, dance, dare us up, up, up, whether baroque, rock & roll,
Jazz, romantic tunes, classical hymns, bee-bop (possibly filled what imaginary cultural
Filaments), mustering blues, good hearts, two timing suffering; working class wisdom!
